It’s interesting to notice that transport bicycle packs a storage compartment in the front wheel. Most riders hate to wear a backpack while on a transport bicycle but the manufacturers from Georgia Tech have offered a resourceful transport solution. A large round compartment framed in the front hubless wheel gives much room for the storage with an additional backpack attached. The frame stays static but the tire rotates whereas the rear wheel has the standard gear system. The designers say the front wheel loaded with books and tablets etc. won’t much affect the handling of the bike. The current prototype, however, is made of plywood and glue with the few steel supports and considerable improvements are likely in future ready-to-use model.
