After launching in China, Swatch NFC Watch, named Swatch Bellamy, will make its appearance in Switzerland, Brazil and the United States. The NFC support allows it to serve as mobile wallet uses high-frequency radio waves to enable electronic devices to communicate over short distances.

The Swiss watchmaker has partnered with Visa to launch this second wave, which is therefore limited to a single financial company. Nick Hayek, Swatch boss has already had occasion to regret the reluctance of banks in his country towards new contactless payment technologies. The name of watch Bellamy was inspired by the American novelist Edward Bellamy who imagined debit card like payment system in his novel Looking Backward foretells written in 1888. Bellamy will be available early in 2016. Expect a lot of vibrant colors.
