It seems that Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is designed to destroy the sanctity of laptop or iPads with its ultra slim profile and upgraded features. Panos Panay is the chief at Surface and claims that Pro 3 will truly replace your laptop. Like its predecessor, it also includes a multi-position kickstand that has a friction-hinge mechanism to let you choose between any angle from 0 to 150 degrees. The optional Type Cover is also improved yet it has 68% larger trackpad and lets you feel your hands on MacBook touchpad. Pro 3 is much thinner (just 9.1mm) than the last models and weight 1.76 lbs without keyboard.

Upholding the standards of display, Microsoft continues to introduce larger 12-inch screen (previously 10.6-in) as similar to Samsung Galaxy Pro tablets. With a 3:2 aspect ratio and Hi-Def display, it doesn’t look weird in a tablet shell. Despite the larger screen, Pro 3 is 200 g lighter than 1kg predecessor. For the first time, Microsoft utilizes fourth generation Intel Haswell Core i3, i5 and i7 variant processors in Pro 3. Further specs include 8GB LPDDR3 RAM and storage capacity of 512 GB (comes with i5 and i7) and 4GB RAM and storage capacity of 64 GB (i3). According to the company, Pro 3 is wisely constructed to beat the power, performance and mobility of laptop and is able to execute intensive programs like Photoshop even 10 times faster than the Pro 2.

The Surface Pro 3 features Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11ac wireless technology, USB 3.0 and Mini DisplayPort. To make HD videos (1080p) and shots, it has front and rear 5 megapixels cameras. Pro 3 also gets a pen upgrade that is more pressure-sensitive and opens OneNote on a single click and takes screenshot on double click. Running on Windows 8.1 Pro by default, you can still install any Windows on Pro 3.
